Polyethylene and PVC pipe - which one is better?

  • It is made of PVC plastic, which has a high coefficient of friction, and because of this, the fluid flow inside the pipe is slower than polyethylene.
  • It has a low thermal coefficient and may be brittle at high temperatures.
  • It is relatively more vulnerable to external damage and is sensitive to the sun and UV rays.
  • It is suitable for conveying city water, sewage and fluids that are more chemical.

According to the different characteristics of each of these two types of pipes, depending on the needs and conditions used, one of them may be better than the other. For example, if you need a smoother fluid flow inside the pipe and you want to use the pipe at low temperatures, polyethylene pipe is the best option. On the other hand, if you need to transfer more chemical fluids, it is better to use PVC pipe.
